Reproductive and (neuro)developmental toxicology
State–of-the-art in vivo and in vitro test methods in conventional (rodent, rabbit) and new (minipig, zebrafish) species are ready for use in testing your products for reproductive and (neuro)developmental safety according to current regulatory requirements.
To increase the predictive value for humans and to reduce time and costs in drug development we continually seek alternative models and methods. Recently, we introduced the zebrafish in the early toxicity prescreening for new compounds and in cooperation with TNO human disease models are being developed using transgenic zebrafish. Other special expertise areas include tailor-made juvenile toxicity and cross-fostering studies and innovative technologies like –omics, imaging (microPET, MRI), advanced neuropathology (linear morphometry/stereology), neurophysiology (EEG, telemetry) and specialised immunopathology.
Customised services
We offer both standard regulatory testing and custom-made solutions in reproductive and (neuro)developmental toxicology. Standard protocols compliant with current guidelines (OECD, US EPA, US FDA, ICH, EMEA) are available to assess effects on fertility, hormone levels, reproduction, pre and postnatal development, neurotoxicity and neurodevelopment and immunodevelopment. We also support customisation of protocols and provide regulatory guidance.
