Research For better living

It is generally recognized that the microbial ecosystem present in the gut profoundly affects human physiology and health. Similarly, food ingredients are known to influence the composition of the microbiota, and changes in microbiota and microbial metabolites in their turn can modulate the immune system. This promising new research field matches up perfectly with Triskelion’s existing expertise in immunology, inflammation, our in vitro gastrointestinal TIM technology allowing the study of microbiome and metabolites, and our strong analytical capabilities for quantifying microbial fermentation metabolites as markers for health benefits. We are currently developing a validated and predictive in vivo model to study the interaction between luminal signals and immune cell migration and response to the blood.
